Construction of 400 kV OHL Meskheti from Akhaltsikhe to the Turkish Border
Project name: Black Sea Transmission Network (BSTN) Project (245.5 million).
Donor organization: KfW, EBRD, EIB, EC NIF.
Contractor: KEC International Limited (India.)
Transmission line length: 32 km.
Total price of the project (loan): 59.6million EUR (together with Vardzia and Zekari OHLs, without co-financing, taxes).
Completion date: August, 2012.
Project outcomes:
- As a result of the fulfillment of the project, Georgian and Turkish grids were connected to each other via new overhead line designated for intersystem flow, providing possibility for transmission of 700 MW capacity to Turkey.
