The World Bank mission visiting Georgia
The World Bank mission is visiting Georgia from 5 to 21 June 2017. The aim of the mission is to monitor the implementation of the Georgian Transmission Grid Strengthening Project being carried out under the World Bank’s financial support.
Within the framework of the mission, local representatives of the World Bank and foreign experts held meetings with the Chairman of the Management Board of the Georgian State Electrosystem Sulkhan Zumburidze and other company representatives. They also visited the construction site of 220 kV Akhaltsikhe-Batumi OHL and Shuakhevi HPP being constructed by Adjaristskali Georgia. Shuakhevi HPP will be connected to the power system through that line. Within the scope of the meetings, the Bank's representatives discussed the details of further financing.
The Bank will complete its mission on June 21. Results of the mission and bank recommendations will be reflected in the relevant protocol within 1 month.
