Georgian State Electrosystem completed another most important project in the country’s energy sector
Georgian State Electrosystem successfully completed the 220 kV OHL reconstruction project in parallel with 500 kV Imereti OHL reconstruction, which is the most important facility in the country’s energy sector. Within the framework of the project, Sataplia-1-2 has been reconstructed, Ajameti 1-2 and Ajameti 2-3 have been configured as double circuit transmission lines, and construction work in the new 21 km Derchi section has been completed. A new energy chain has been created between Kutaisi-220 and Zestafoni-500 substations, which means to have the ability to make 80%-90% reserves in case of outage of 500 kV Imereti OHL. The project was partly financed by the World Bank in framework of "Transmission Network Strengthening Project of Georgia" and was entirely drafted and implemented by GSE personnel.
