Working Meeting on Integration of Renewable Energy Sources with the Grid
To study the possibilities of integration of renewable energy sources with the Grid, a two-day working meeting between representatives of Georgian State Electrosystem and the consortium of consultants created by DIgSILENT GmbH and DMCC-Engineering Ltd was held at the GSE Head Office.
At the meeting, the parties discussed the situation in the Georgian energy system. DIgSILENT GmbH and DMCC-Engineering Ltd consultants delivered presentations on the analysis, network rules and technical requirements for integration of renewable energy sources with the Grid.
In consequence of the study, it will be possible to determine the maximum capacity of the Georgian energy system to connect renewable energy sources to the Grid.
As far as the wind and solar generation technologies become cheaper, integration of renewable energy sources turns to be more attractive for the Georgian energy system.
