Configuration of Ajameti OHL as Double Circuit Transmission Line Continues
Georgian State Electrosystem is implementing 220 kV OHL reconstruction project alongside with the 500 kV Imereti OHL, which is the most important facility for the country’s energy sector. Under the project, 220 kV OHL Sataplia-1-2 reconstruction project successfully completed in 2016. At present, Ajameti-1-2 OHL is being actively configured as double-circuit transmission line and a new section of Derchi OHL is being constructed. By implementing the project, 70% capacity can be transmitted if unforeseen circumstances occur on the 500 kV line. Rehabilitation works are underway and their completion is scheduled for late April.
