Vano Zardiashvili, Director General of Georgian State Electrosystem, met with representatives of Larsen & Toubro Limited.
The contractor company is implementing the project for the construction of the Lajanuri–Tskaltubo and New Lajanuri–Lajanuri HPP transmission lines, as well as the double-circuiting of Derchi, in the Imereti and Racha-Lechkhumi regions.
At the meeting, the parties discussed the progress of the project, the updated construction schedule, and the next steps. A preliminary agreement was reached, according to which 2028 was set as the project completion deadline.
The meeting was attended by representatives of Georgian State Electrosystem, Larsen & Toubro Limited, and the consulting company Mercados-Aries International.
The project is being implemented with EBRD financing. Its goal is to integrate the prospective hydropower plants of Racha-Lechkhumi into the energy system, strengthen the transmission network, and increase the reliability of the electric power system.
