Sustainability and Finance Forum 2026
Zviad Gachechiladze, member of the Board of Directors of Georgian State Electrosystem, participated in the international event held in Istanbul — Sustainability and Finance Forum 2026.
The main topic of the panel discussion at the forum was the prospects and future plans for the development of interconnectors linking Georgia with neighboring countries and the European Union.
Zviad Gachechiladze delivered a presentation at the session titled "Practical Implementation of Green Policy — Modernization of the Electricity Grid and Interconnectors." He highlighted the key role of the Georgian State Electrosystem in the implementation of the Black Sea submarine cable project, as well as the overland green energy corridor through Turkey and the Caspian Sea–Black Sea green energy corridor projects.
These projects will contribute to deepening regional energy integration, expanding the electricity market, and strengthening Georgia's position as a transit and strategic energy hub.
The forum was hosted by the UK Department for Business and Trade and supported by UK Export Finance.
The aim of the event is to foster strategic partnerships between policy-making bodies and major project-implementing companies from the United Kingdom, Turkey, Central Asia, the South Caucasus, and the Balkans.
