Working Meeting with EirGrid Representatives

Giorgi Amuzashvili, a member of the Board of Directors of Georgian State Electrosystem, held working meetings with representatives of Ireland's transmission system operator EirGrid. The meetings were held under the auspices of the International Council on Large Electric Systems (CIGRE) and aimed to deepen cooperation in the electricity sector between Georgia and Ireland, sharing knowledge and experience.
The parties discussed the challenges and facilitating factors of integrating renewable energy into the system. They also addressed issues of system reliability, transmission network management, and modern technologies, including the integration of HVDC systems.
As part of the event, members of the GSE delegation presented on the company's activities and the Georgian electrical system in general, and introduced their foreign colleagues to their operation and dispatching practices.
During the visit, GSE representatives participated in a meeting of the CIGRE Young Engineers Association International Committee, which was attended by nearly 20 representatives from Great Britain, USA, Germany, Norway, Italy, Greece, Belgium, and other countries.
The CIGRE Georgian National Committee was established in 2018 on the initiative of Georgian State Electrosystem. GSE delegates actively collaborate with foreign colleagues and are involved in innovative research processes taking place on the international arena.
