Meeting with the Minister of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan
Vano Zardiashvili, Director General of the Georgian State Electrosystem, participated in a meeting between Georgia’s Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Mariam Kvrivishvili, and the Minister of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Parviz Shahbazov.
The parties discussed the priority areas of energy cooperation between the two countries, reviewed the Black Sea Submarine Cable Project—which will connect the South Caucasus power system to the European network—and highlighted its strategic importance. The project will support the development of the renewable energy sector and increase transit and bilateral trade opportunities between the European Union and the South Caucasus region.
It was noted that the two countries will continue to actively cooperate to achieve common goals in energy security, regional integration, and sustainable development.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Ministers of Economy Inga Pkhaladze and Genadi Arveladze, Head of the Ministry’s Department of Energy Policy and Investment Projects Aleksandre Sokhadze, and ESCO General Director Tornike Kazarashvili.
