Educational Tour at Georgian State Electrosystem
As part of an educational tour, Georgian State Electrosystem hosted students from the The Iveria Godmother Church School-gymnasium.
Senior students attended presentations at GSE’s head office on the role of the Georgian State Electrosystem in the development of the country’s energy sector, as well as on general energy topics, including renewable energy generation and its development, achievements in the energy sector, and existing challenges.
The students visited the National Dispatch Center and learned about the basic principles of its operation. They also toured the control panel equipped with the latest technologies, which is responsible for the operational management of the country’s power system.
As part of the second stage of the educational tour, senior students visited the Navtlugi 220 substation. They received information about the functioning of power transmission lines and substations in general, and directly participated in the inspection process of transmission lines using various electrical equipment. The students were also introduced to GSE’s Training Center, where future energy specialists can undergo free internships with employment prospects.
Since 2016, Georgian State Electrosystem has been organizing educational tours for school students from Tbilisi and the regions, primarily aimed at fostering interest in the energy sector among the younger generation. GSE is focused on introducing more young people to the large-scale projects underway at the company and the modern technologies being implemented. Educational tours for students from various schools are scheduled throughout the year.
