Working Meeting in Great Britain

The member of the Board of Directors of Georgian State Electrosystem, Zviad Gachechiladze, participated in meetings organized by the United Kingdom's Department for Business and Trade.

The purpose of the visit was to present the details of the Black Sea underwater cable project to the British side and to benefit from their experience in supporting the development of interconnection projects and ensuring security measures. Additionally, the visit aimed to learn about British practices regarding underwater cable projects, which will help the company in future research and technological development of the Black Sea underwater cable project.

The meetings were attended by representatives from the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Georgian State Electrosystem and the Georgian Embassy in Great Britain, while the British side was represented by officials from the Foreign Office and the head of economic affairs at the British Embassy in Georgia.

Meetings were held with representatives of the United Kingdom's Department for Energy Security and Net Zero and the system operator NESO, as well as with companies working on cyber and physical security issues for underwater cables, and private technology companies that provide both land and maritime route survey activities for cables, as well as construction work.

As part of the visit, the Georgian delegation participated in the All-Energy Exhibition and Conference 2025, which is the United Kingdom's largest exhibition-conference in the direction of renewable energy and energy transmission.
