Georgian State Electrosystem at CIGRE SEERC's 5th International Conference

Georgian State Electrosystem presented 13 papers at the International Conference of the South-East European Regional Council (SEERC) of CIGRE (International Council on Large Electric Systems).

At the conference, which received 135 papers from 24 countries, one of the best papers was named the work prepared by GSE employees Pikria Elizarashvili and Tamar Jikia, which dealt with the optimization of hydropower plants in Georgia's electric power system, while CIGRE Georgia National Committee was awarded for active participation in the conference and contribution to the organization's development.

The main theme of the conference was: regional challenges and interconnection; integration of renewable energies and modern technologies; reliability of electrical systems and resilience to climate change.

It should be noted that CIGRE Georgia National Committee was formed in 2018 precisely on the initiative of Georgian State Electrosystem and since then Georgian State Electrosystem has been an official member of CIGRE. The main function of the National Committee is to increase awareness about Georgia's energy system in electrical engineering scientific circles and to bring together European and Georgian engineers.
