Director General of GSE Attended an Economic Forum
The Director General of Georgian State Electrosystem, Giorgi Gigineishvili, attended an economic forum where the main topics of discussion were Georgia's energy policy, energy security, and renewable energy.
The forum was opened by the First Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Levan Davitashvili. The Vice Prime Minister spoke about current trends in the energy sector, ongoing and planned reforms, and major infrastructure projects.
The Chairman of the Georgian Regulatory Commission, Davit Narmania, addressed the audience, emphasizing the importance of the energy sector for the country's development in his speech.
The forum extensively discussed strengthening the country's energy security, increasing the share of local electricity in the energy balance, and growth in exports. The discussion also touched upon coordinated work with the energy systems of neighboring countries and the Black Sea Submarine Cable project, through which Georgia will connect to the European Union's energy system.
The economic forum was attended by representatives from various energy companies and the business sector.
