KfW Development Bank Representatives Visit GSE
Robert Rossner, manager of the energy network improvement program of KfW Development Bank, representatives of Tbilisi office of KfW, and technical, social and environmental protection specialists visited Georgian State Electrosystem.
The purpose of the visit was to hold working meetings within the framework of Black Sea Power Transmission Network Project and Transmission Network Expansion Open Program II. Details of ongoing projects supported by KfW Development Bank were discussed at the meetings.
Within the framework of the visit, KfW representatives met with Director General of GSE Giorgi Gigineishvili and the employees of various structural units of GSE. Supporting GSE in terms of introducing advanced social and environmental standards was focused on. The guests also visited power transmission line Ksani-Stepantsminda built with their support and learned about the operation of the line on the site.
Georgian State Electrosystem implements important energy projects with the financial support of the German government and KfW. Large-scale construction/expansion projects of transmission lines and substations are planned, which will enable Georgia to develop a stable, reliable power transmission system and will provide a large amount of electricity overflow for export-import and transit.
