Georgian State Electrosystem was granted a new license.The National Energy and Water Supply Commission has issued an electricity transmission license to the company.

According to the license, which will come into force on July 1, 2021, GSE is authorized to transmit electricity from the receiving points of the electricity transmission system to the delivery points for its transboundary flow, for distribution and/or end-use purposes, perform other functions related to electricity transmission, including transmission system operation, maintenance and development; Also, if necessary, interconnect transmission system with the other systems, And ensure the long-term capacity of the system to meet reasonable requirements related to electricity transmission.

According to the license, Georgian State Electrosystem is the Only Transmission Network Operator in Georgia.
