Georgian State Electrosystem Carrying 0ut Switching Works

Due to the planned rehabilitation works in the Enguri HPP diversion tunnel, which is carried out periodically every 10-12 years to ensure safe and reliable energy supply to Georgia, Georgian State Electrosystem will implement switching works.

Enguri HPP, the largest electricity producer in Georgia, will be closed for three months on January 20 due to planned repairs.The National Dispatch Center (NCC) has developed a special scheme to disconnect the Georgian power system from the Abkhazian grid.

Georgian power system ensures the energy security of Georgia and continues to work according to the mentioned scheme during the repair works. Abkhazia will be supplied with energy by the Russian Federation.
