Electricity Market Reform Meeting
Zurab Ezugbaia, Member of the Board of Directors / Director of Interconnection and Organized Markets Development of Georgian State Electrosystem, participated in a meeting with the leaders of direct customers participating in the wholesale market held by GNERC and the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia.
The purpose of the meeting was to introduce to the representatives of direct consumer enterprises the process of electricity market reform. David Narmania, Chairman of the Georgian National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission, and David Tvalabeishvili, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, presented the requirements of the legislative framework developed for the new market structure. Zurab Ezugbaia informed the participants about registration, deadlines, procedures and trade-related issues on the market of balancing and ancillary services.
Within the framework of the ongoing reform in the energy sector, Georgian State Electrosystem will ensure the operation of the market of balancing and ancillary services by sharing best practices of EU standards, creating an open competitive market, an attractive investment environment and free choice for consumers.
