Opening Ceremony Dedicated to the Commencement of Substation 500 KV Marneuli Construction
Vice-Prime Minister/Minister of Energy Mr. Kakha Kaladze, Chairman of Management Board of GSE Mr. Sulkhan Zumburidze, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Turkey in Georgia Mr. Levent Gumrukcu and Director of Permanent Representative of ADB in Georgia Yesim Elhan-Kayalar attended the official opening ceremony dedicated to the commencement of construction of 500 KV Marneuli Substation.
JSC “Georgian State Electrosystem” is going to commence the construction of a new, modern 500 kV Substation Marneuli in Marneuli region, within the frameworks of “Regional Power Transmission Enhancement Project” funded by Asian Development Bank (ADB).
The new substation will be connected to the existing 220/110 KV Substation Marneuli with 220 KV line, which is being constructed by GSE’s own efforts. The construction works of 500KV Substation Marneuli will be carried out by Turkish Company “BEST”, with the installed capacity of 660 MVA. The value of the Project equals to $ 20 million. The project will be completed by the second half of 2016.
